Duties require general maintenance and repairs fixing and maintaining machines, operating mechanical equipment, and buildings systems. Basic skills include light plumbing, light carpentry, light electrical work, air-conditioning and heating systems, among other general tasks.

To be eligible for the Senior Facility Engineer Certification an applicant must have accumulated at least 4000 work hours in building maintenance and operations.

The Master Facility Engineer Certification is a creditable credential serving to verify the holder’s knowledge and working experience in general maintenance and building operations.
